Moment 1 of 7 · Lines 1-5
The call and the hiding place
Hidden among sacks in a garden toolshed that smell of the seaside, the child shouts that they are ready to be found. The voice is sure no one will find this spot, but warns the child to keep their feet out of sight and not to call again.

- The hider
- The voice
Why it matters
The poem opens with a request to be found and ends with no one looking, so everything that follows is measured against this first wish.
